This video is called 'I like that'. I have chosen to analyse this video because I think it is very interesting to watch, as it is modern and creative, and it has alot of effects within it. The mise en scene within this music video is fairly simple. Alot of this video is set outside, near garages and walls and busy roads, this is to emphasise the atmosphere which is wanted by the artists. The main character within this music video is a young woman who is presented as a type of 'wild child', with messy hair, revealing clothes in some scenes, bright lipstick, big rings and also glittery gloves in one part of the video. I think this character is portrayed in this way during the video because it makes the video more exciting and also makes people want to watch. Another reason for this could be because of the style today, as currently the style for 'going out' is big hair and bright lipstick, therefore it fits in within fashion and style of today. There are also two men shown within this video, who are shown wearing a suit, this presents the idea that the men have authority and power over the woman. There is also props used within this video, such as a pen which is used to write the lyrics 'I Like That' across the woman's chest, the same lyrics are also written across a garage during this video. Another prop used is a green apple, this is used when the singer talks about 'New York' as 'The Big Apple'. The colours used throughout this video are very bright and vibrant, and there are many different effects used. This music video has many technical effects, such as the colour figures of the characters. There aren't many different camera shots within this music video, however, there are wide shot, medium shot, long shot, close up and high angled shot used throughout this video. The medium shot was the most common shot used throughout this, personally I feel that the shots were too repetitive, and a wider range of shots would have improved the video. There are many different edits within this video, there is use of cut, cross cut. There is also use of split screen, where the screen is split up into four sections, which looks very effective. There is also many effects where the colours follow people, and create cartoon like figures, which equally looks effective. Overall I liked this music video, as I found that it was unique and modern.
